"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" ~John 8:32~

What is

Truth?

God's truth is the absolute and unchanging reality, revealed through the Bible and the person of Jesus Christ. Unlike human truths that are often subjective and flawed, this truth is eternal, existing before creation and lasting forever. It is transcendent, superior to the physical world and human understanding, and infallible, incapable of error or failure. Ultimately, this truth is liberating, freeing individuals from the bondage of sin and deception as promised in John 8:32: "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

What is Truth

"Truth is a Person"

Pilate's famous question, "What is truth?" is a category mistake, since truth is not about "what" but about "Who." Truth is not something objective and static; it is not a thing to be known and studied from a distance. No. Truth is up close and personal. Understood in this way, truth is a way of living, a mode of existence, and inherently relational. It is a mistake to think of God as an "object" to be studied.  No, God is not some static thing, but rather a dynamic and forceful Person.  Unlike the Greek philosophers, who tended to regard God as little more than a "machine" or device that caused the universe to "get going," the LORD God of Israel is intensely personal, feeling, emotional, compassionate, and angry, among other attributes.  The Hebrew view of God is that of a Living Person, a Spoken Word, and a Fiery Breath that broods over the events of the physical world.

Truth is a person
It's not What
is TRUTH, It's
Who is TRUTH

TRUTH-EMET (אֱמֶת)

Truth Encompasses All

In Hebrew, the word for truth, emet (אֱמֶת), contains the first, middle, and the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet, indicating that truth encompasses all things and endures from the beginning (א) to the end (ת):

But notice that if we remove the letter Aleph from the word, we are left with the word "dead" (met: מֵת), the opposite of life (chayim: חַיִּים). The letter Aleph is the ineffable letter that represents oneness and the preeminent glory of God. Therefore, if we attempt to ignore or suppress God in our understanding of truth, we end up with death. And since Jesus told us, "I am the way (הַדֶּרֶךְ), the truth (הָאֱמֶת), and the life (הַחַיִּים); no one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6), those who deny His reality are in a state of spiritual death... We simply cannot know the meaning of life apart from the Person and Glory of Jesus, our Messiah!

Since truth is all-encompassing, there is always a place for it to be practiced. No place or experience is exempt from its presence; therefore, there is always the demand to live in its light. Indeed, God Himself is called the Spirit of Truth (John 14:7, 15:26, 16:13).

Truth explained

"GOD alone represents and determines what TRUTH is; therefore, it is not what you or I think but what GOD thinks that is TRUTH."
